This thesis is concerned with the operation of channel allocation at the MAC layer in the IMT-2000 System.
The operation strategy of channel allocation is simple issue of the existing system such as celluar, PCS because there is mainly voice traffic. But because the appearance of IMT-2000 comes from the increase of data traffic, channel operation of IMT-2000 is more complicated than that of second generation. And it is obvious that the World Wide Web traffic will be the main part among the data traffic.
Therefore in this study the target traffic is the web traffic which is divided into two classes : streaming, non-streaming. And each of them is again divided into two and three types respectively. Using this classification with the multimedia traffic modeling of the IMT-2000 the thesis is simulated. The simulation is executed on the change of channel number, the probabilities of types and so forth.
