Force plate is a kind of sensor which is usually installed on ground to measure forces and moment. It is useful to measure human or other animal's movement. Conventional force plate has main shortage that it has crosstalk. To eliminate crosstalk from 3-axis force transducer in force plate, in this paper force plate based on stewart platform using 1-axis force triansducer was proposed. First, advantages of stewart platform type force-torque sensor on conventional force plate are discussed. Next, we considered requirements on force plate to design force plate based on stewart platform. Then we designed force plate based on stewart platform. Main design problem was two: one was positions and directions of link connecting base and upper plate. The other was joint and leg which enables accurate measuring. Expected results of proposed design methods were well corresponded with experimental results. Designed force plate showed better results than stewart-platform type force senor in crosstalk. Also it was a little better than low-cost model of conventional force plate in crosstalk.
