A large eddy simulation is performed to investigate the space-time characteristics of wall pressure and shear-stress fluctuations in a turbulent boundary layer. To generate time-dependent inflow data in a spatially-evolving turbulent boundary layer, the rescaling technique proposed by Lund et al. (1998) is employed. A fully-implicit fractional step method is used to simulate the flow. This method is validated by testing a direct numerical simulation of turbulent channel flow. Computational results are presented to disclose the ability of simulation to capture the turbulent statistics close to the wall. Based on the LES data in a turbulent boundary layer, several wall turbulence statistics are scrutinized. Emphasis is placed on the spectra of wall pressure and shear-stress fluctuations. The convection velocities with different definitions are also examined.
