It is necessary for much endeavor and hard for network evolution because network architecture and each element system should be redeveloped in case of new services being induced as to existing IN architecture of Korea Telecom is Pre-IN architecture. Therefore existing IN architecture is not perfect Intelligent Network in all aspects in contrast with initial expectation. Accordingly many advanced countries are actively researching for the Next Generation Intelligent Network[Advanced Intelligent Network] which is different from existing Intelligent Network, and Korea Telecom is driving in developing the Next Generation Intelligent Network based on ITU-T IN CS-1. But there are many items being under consideration for CS-3 and CS-4 not announced last recommendation yet as well as CS-2 announced standard recommendation, etc in developing the Next Generation Intelligent Network. Also the Next Generation Intelligent Network should be constructed in reflecting upon interconnection with existing PSTN, ISDN, interconnection with existing PLMN and IMT-2000 being initiated after year 2000, and synthetic development related with Internet, B-ISDN also. This thesis was introduced 3 steps of optimal construction strategy in constructing the Next Generation Intelligent Network of Korea Telecom in the evolution aspect rather than in the revolution aspect: such as model step, enlargement step, target step.
