A prediction method of aerodynamic characteristics for missile boby is suggested. The inviscid flow part is computed by an Euler code and crossflow method is applied to the viscous flow part. Using this method, normal force coefficient and aerodynamic centers are predicted for missile bodies having circular and elliptic cross sections. Also a new proportionality factor is suggested. When compared with Jorgensen's method, the present method is considered as a better prediction method in subsonic region.
Two dimensional drag coefficients of various trapezoidal cross sections were obtained from the wind tunnel experiment. Four cylindrical models with different side angle were tested and drag coefficients were estimated from the wake survey. However, no conclusion could be drawn owing partly to inaccuracy of models tested.
