A new method of 3-Dimensional grid generation is presented. It is based on Kwon's 2-Dimensional work. It uses linear uncoupled equations as the grid generating equation. Conformal transformation and the solution of potential flows are used to fulfill the requirements for the appropriate boundary conditions.
For the 2-Dimensional cases, grids for a cascade, a symmetric airfoil, and a cambered airfoil are generated to show the usefulness of this method.
For the 3-Dimensional cases, grids for wing only, wing and body with and
without swept-back are generated.
To show the effectiveness of this method, a transonic flow is computed with the generated grid for a wing-body case to get a reasonable solution.
Since this method uses the linear uncoupled equations as a grid generating equation, much time can be saved in generating 3-Dimensional grids. It shows the possibility of very quick generation of the grid for 3-Dimensional problems.
