In this these work, an IF module, specifically tunable frequency up conversion module,for DAMA SCPC System in the frequency of 70MHz is designed and implemented.
For these purpose, a 42MHz reference signal generator for local signal and a frequency synthesizer which enables users to select one of channel frequencies are designed and implemented by using phase-locked loops. The used PLL chip is Philips' UMA1017M. Frequency synthesizer is designed and implemented to have fast switching time under the condition of good spectral characteristics while RSG is designed for a good frequency purity. Switching time and phase noise characteristics are measured for each design.
And for a complete wireless transceiver for digital data communications, a voltage controlled oscillator for 150MHz with colpitts oscillator is designed and implemented so that it can be used as a local signal for 220MHz RF signal.
