From ancient times, the form has been an important factor in connection with religion and philosophy. And the geometry is a good tool understand it efficiently. But the quantitative geometry based on the Euclid's 'Stoicheia' and Reductionism limited the form-creating environments for a long time.
In the field of design, there has been more emphasis on the form after semantics became influential in 1970's. And designers' roles have changed from those on visible projects like drawing or modeling to invisible projects like computer programings. Therefore, we need new approach that is different from existing form construction methods.
The purpose of this thesis is to present a new viewpoint to approach the characteristics of the form naturally and universally through the qualitative mathematics that is so-called Topology. For the purpose of it, conceptual idea, the form informations, was introduced in the form construction process. The form informations is an important factor that can organize the organic form construction process which represents characteristics of the form with three rules; the qualitative approach to the shapes, the concurrent approach in parts and on the whole of the form, and the gradual construction of the form transformation.
The qualitative form construction process produces the frame to transform the meaning into visible form. And use of the form characteristic information through the Topology conceptual idea, reduces the error in transforming and produces holistic views and some patterns that are useful to other fields related with the form.
