Major trends in present cellular communication system is digital and microcell. According to these trend, handoff problem become most important and critical issue.
CDMA system provide soft-handoff method and hard-handoff method. In cases of different frequency, different frame offset and different BSC there arise hard-handoff.
Frequency hard-handoff problem is consist of initial call admission control and hard-handoff algorithm development.
In this thesis, we examine the problem of the initial call admission control in a CDMA cellular system. Our object is to find an optimal hard-handoff coverage with other frequency coverage is fixed. A mathmatical formulation and a solution procedure using simulation method are proposed. Our method and findings are not efficient and trafic dependent but the findings give us important implications. Our result can be initial input of hard-handoff algorithm development process.
